Ever since i’ve heard Alexis singing – something inside me shifted… I didn’t quite know what it was, but it felt so profound – as if a long lost dream was disturbed and ready to be resurrected.
Feeling all the healing light of the prayers Alexis puts in her songs, I realized how much I was longing to reconnect with my own Voice… I’ve been hoping to find guidance and I couldn’t ask for a better Teacher! Not only does she truly believe, know and love singing, but also have so much faith in her students! Alexis is a true professional, incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, empathetic and intuitive with the techniques she shares. Alexis’ work goes far beyond helping her students to sing more beautifully, though this benefit emerges naturally through exploring vocal development with her. It is, in fact, a collaborative process, with Alexis as a worthy guide. She approaches her students as unique individuals, each with an inherently wonderful voice, and guides them — drawing upon her technical expertise and gifted intuitive awareness — to the full expression of their own authentic beauty, as singers, and — by extension — their very selves. Alexis gently empowers her students to find and face their own wounds, which reveal themselves (but can likewise be healed) through vocal journeys. I have no doubt that each of these journeys is as singular as each person and each voice is, and she has shown me through our work together that the totality of our experience can enrich and enliven our songs. I went for a long time without allowing myself to sing. It was as if I couldn’t breathe, but didn’t know it. Now I sing all the time.
